Patient Service Representative at True North Pediatric Associates of Plymouth located in Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462

Position Summary/Purpose:
Patient Service Representatives are part of the front office staff. They are responsible for all front desk and medical records and for performing customer services and administrative tasks to support the delivery of clinical services. This position will be full-time and will work four days per week.
Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Answers phones and schedules appointments as needed Gathers and/or verifies demographic and insurance information and data entry of information into the EHR Verifies insurance coverage Enters clinical and other information into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and other systems as required Collects fees/copays/deductibles Assists with completion of new intake paperwork. Checks faxes and distributes to the proper provider or administrator. Enhance work environment by demonstrating a positive and professional attitude with physicians, coworkers, patients and vendor representatives. Clinical Manager General Employee Responsibilities:
Strives to provide excellent patient services both over the telephone and inperson. Displays understanding towards patients. Displays respect of policies pertaining to dress code; use of internet for business purposes only; limited use of cell phones while clocked in, unless for business purposes, for voice calls, texting and/or internet/social media surfing; parks in designated areas, respects clinic property. Good work awareness; uses downtime in a productive manner. Appropriately prioritizes work. Accepts responsibility for work area. Dependable Rarely tardy Stays within allotted break/lunch times, returns back to work early when needed. No "start up time" (i.e. not visiting, making coffee, checking personal email, etc.) after clocking in for the beginning of a shift. Display pleasant personality and be of good moral character.
Service Standards:
Good work attitude, friendly to coworkers, does not disrupt others with loud talk or music. Handles problems with professionalism. Displays initiative to learn new jobs and solve problems. Answers all telephone calls by third ring. Answers all calls with "This is (your name), how may I help you?" Limits personal calls to one per day. Has a sense of ownership, assists patients/visitors when needed rather than ignoring them. Picks up trash rather than ignoring it. Cleans up work area at the end of the shift, does not leave a mess for others. Helps coworkers when possible. Professional appearance
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
High School Diploma, GED, Metropolitan Test, or equivalent 1 year experience in Medical Office environment
Required Skills:
Demonstrates organizational skills for prioritizing daily work. Ability to work effectively under pressure. Demonstrates knowledge of medical and behavioral health insurance Basic computer skills for Windowsbased applications Detail oriented Ability to multitask Possess a body of knowledge specific to behavioral health and medical terminology Working knowledge of Microsoft Word with willingness to learn Microsoft Excel and other programs as needed, such as EHR Verbal and written communication skills appropriate for a professional environment
