WORK ENVIRONMENT
& SCHEDULEThis is a full-time position based on campus in Provo, UT, with an initial on-site onboarding period transitioning to a hybrid schedule (3 days on-site, 2 days remote). Some evening or weekend hours may be required during peak academic periods such as Commencement, Convocation, and registration cycles.

ROLEThe Assistant Registrar is a professional-level role within the Registrar's Office responsible for contributing to the accuracy, integrity, and accessibility of the student record across the full academic lifecycle. Assistant Registrars serve as both generalist contributors to shared office responsibilities and functional leads in one of three specialized areas: Academic Status & Policy, Audits & Data, or Student Transitions & Curricula.
This role requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, collaborative spirit, and a genuine commitment to student success and institutional integrity.

WHAT YOU WILL
DOAll Assistant Registrars, regardless of functional area, share responsibility for the following:
Maintain and administer student records with a commitment to privacy, accuracy, and FERPA compliance, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of academic activity from enrollment through degree conferral.
Serve as a knowledgeable resource for students, faculty, programs, and administrators via email, phone, and in-person interactionsInterpret and apply academic policies and curricular requirements, including prerequisites and modified schedulesContribute to team-wide projectsCommencement, Convocation, and semester lifecycle workflowsImprovement initiatives to increase efficiency and better serve studentsComplete ongoing training and professional development in Registrar's Office policies, procedures, and best practices, with particular emphasis on FERPA and industry standardsIdentify, communicate, and help resolve errors when they occurFunctional Area ResponsibilitiesAcademic Status & PolicyReports to:
Assist in maintaining and updating academic policies, including contributions to the University HandbookAssist with on-site and classroom scheduling processesSupport academic appeals and integrity violation processes, including:
Compiling documentation and coordinating review processesDrafting correspondence and response lettersCoordinating Academic Appeals Committee documentation and attending committee meetings as a non-voting resourceAssist with academic status determinations and record updates, and communicate status changes, requirements, and next steps to students in a timely and sensitive mannerAssist with Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) review processes and record updates, and coordinate with the Financial Aid Office as appropriate

FORRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree required13 years of experience in higher education, preferably in a Registrar's Office or related academic affairs role.
