Job Description

Caras Health is a concierge internal medicine practice. We provide the highest level of care to our patients in a small private office setting with three internal medicine physicians in Portola Valley. The Patient Care Advocate supports one of the physicians. This position is onsite five days per week, possibly four onsite and one remote. On remote work days, you must be within driving distance of the office in the occasional event you are needed to backup for sick/out-of-office staff. Key Duties Greeting patients as they arrive to appointments Performing blood draws, taking vitals, giving injections Basic wound care Patient care advocate: helping patients schedule appointments with specialists, supporting pre-authorizations with insurance companies Answering phones and patient emails Customer service Effectively respond to inquiries from patients and/or referring physicians in an accurate and timely fashion. Other administrative activities Requirements Excellent interpersonal skills and a patient-focused approach Excellent written skills Excellent organizational skills Highly detail oriented Highly competent at blood draws, injections Obsessive with follow-up and seeing tasks through to completion Ability to multi-task and manage many critical tasks in an organized and efficient manner Professionalism, reliability Ability to work independently Discretion and appropriate judgment regarding patient confidentiality Qualifications Minimum 5 years of directly relevant experience in medical care setting Typical Office software - email, word processing, basic spreadsheets required Electronic medical record experience preferred Bachelor's Degree or equivalent preferred Writing sample may be requested with application Training regarding HIPAA may be required Covid-19 vaccination required
