This is a 100% remote, contract-to-hire opportunity open to candidates located anywhere in the United States.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Behavioral Health Revenue Cycle & Patient Support Specialist will play a key role in supporting the financial and operational success of a growing integrative mental health practice. This position combines behavioral health billing, insurance verification, coding, claims follow-up, and patient support responsibilities within a highly collaborative and patient-centered environment. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, compassionate, and excited to contribute to a practice focused on innovative and holistic mental health care.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Verify insurance eligibility and benefits for new and existing behavioral health patients Review, code, and process psychiatric and mental health claims with accuracy and efficiency Follow up on denied, unpaid, or outstanding claims, including appeals and rebilling efforts Maintain accurate patient charts and ensure documentation compliance and CDI standards are met Support patient communication related to scheduling, forms, refill requests, and general inquiries through the EMR platform

QUALIFICATIONS

Must have experience supporting behavioral health, psychiatric, or mental health billing and revenue cycle workflows Strong understanding of insurance verification, coding, claims processing, and collections for commercial and government payors Familiarity with payors such as Cigna, Aetna, BCBS, Optum, Tricare, Medicare, and Medicaid preferred Experience with Practice Better or similar EMR/EHR platforms is highly preferred
