myHealth for Teens & Young Adults is a 501 (c3) non-profit organization committed to providing clinical services for adolescents and young adults. myHealth 's mission is to improve the health of our community by providing health services and information that support teens and young adults in making responsible and well-informed decisions. myHealth's vision is that one day all young people will be educated and empowered to make responsible decisions regarding their health and relationships.
WHAT WE DO
myHealth clinic-based programs offer youth and young adults, ages 12-26, comprehensive, preventative and youth-focused medical services, mental health services, community outreach and education, and nurse home visiting for pregnant and parenting teens. Our clinic is in downtown Hopkins and our services are offered without judgment in a caring and safe environment.
JOB SUMMARY
This is a hybrid position with two components: Patient Services Representative and Insurance Navigator. The Patient Service Representative is often the first person a client or community member meets when they walk in the clinic, and we are looking for someone who can consistently provide a positive and professional customer service experience for all. This position will cover Monday 11:45am to 6pm or 1:45 to 8pm, Tuesday from 11:45am to 5pm, Thursday from 11:45am to 4 or 5pm, and occasionally an additional shift. Responsibilities include checking in clients for appointments, accurately scheduling clients for clinic appointments, obtaining and verifying necessary demographic and insurance information, explaining the Minnesota Family Planning Program (MFPP) and assisting in enrolling clients in the program. An Insurance Navigator helps members of our community of all ages apply for and enroll in insurance through MNsure. This role will involve becoming certified through MNsure, meeting with members of the community (in-person and virtually), submitting health insurance applications, helping clients enroll, performing case work, and related duties. The hours for the insurance navigator part of this position are flexible. There will be 2-4 onsite navigator hours per week initially after certification and may grow with demand. Applicants must have a strong work ethic and be able to work independently. This position will range from 16 hours to 19 hours per week upon hire. After all training is completed, the position will range 20 to 22 hours a week with room for future growth. Pay range is $18-20 an hour based on experience. Position/training starts as soon as possible. This position is not benefits-eligible upon hire, but will become benefits-eligible once a full load of insurance navigation brings the position to over 20 hours.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required High school graduate or GED At least one year of customer service experience Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) OR experiencing working in a medical setting Ability to work effectively with individuals from a variety of economic, social and culturally diverse backgrounds and maintain strict patient confidentiality Technical proficiency in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office and Outlook, Excel and Word Organized and detail-oriented Preferred Benefits enrollment experience Ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy clinic Ability to work as part of a healthcare team of Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Medical Assistants, Educators and Mental Health Counselors Ability to deliver quality care to adolescents and young adults according to clinic policies and procedures
