Job Description

Surgical Scheduler / Medical Office Front Desk (Ophthalmology Practice) Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Surgical Scheduler to join our busy ophthalmology practice. This role coordinates all aspects of surgical preparation for cataract procedures while supporting front desk operations as needed. The ideal candidate is highly organized, communicates effectively, and thrives in a busy clinical environment.
Schedule Surgical Scheduler:
~20 hours per week
Front Desk:
~16-20 hours per week Compensation & Benefits $22-$25 per hour, based on experience PTO (vacation, sick time, holidays) Medical and dental insurance 401(k) Benefits are prorated based on hours worked. Qualifications Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal and patient service skills Medical office experience preferred Knowledge of surgical scheduling and insurance authorizations preferred Detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask Team-oriented with a professional demeanor Responsibilities Surgical Scheduler (Primary Role) Coordinate all steps required to prepare patients for cataract surgeries Communicate with patients, surgical centers, insurance providers, and referring offices Schedule procedures, pre-operative testing, and post-operative visits Provide preoperative instructions to cataract surgery patients Coordinate medical clearances with primary care providers Verify insurance benefits and obtain prior authorizations Front Desk (Secondary Role)
Primary Responsibilities:
Answer phones and direct patient inquiries appropriately Complete tasks related to each patient interaction
Additional Tasks May Include:
Check patients in and out Update patient demographics Collect copayments Schedule appointments Post payments to patient accounts Verify insurance information Perform general administrative duties
Pay:
$22.00 - $25.00 per hour
