Patient Care Representative Responsibilities:
Greet and check in patients with warmth and efficiency Maintain a clean, professional lobby and front desk environment Answer phones, triage calls, and return messages appropriately and promptly Answer patient questions and address complaints Schedule appointments accurately, including new referrals and follow-ups according to Provider protocols Collect copays, account balances and verify insurance Receive letters, packages, etc. and distribute them
- Prepare and send letters to patients
- Monitor office supplies and help place orders
- Become knowledgeable of insurance coverage for patients
- Obtain signatures on all forms and documents as required
- Help resolve any billing issues to help get claims paid Verify insurance and obtain updated patient demographics Fax, scan, assign, and file electronic documents in our EMR system Communicate effectively with providers, nurses, and fellow team members Medical Records; Incoming and Outgoing Maintain patient accounts by obtaining, recording and updating personal and financial information Maintain up-to-date knowledge of patient insurance requirements Assist with billing coordination and basic claim troubleshooting Job duties are subject to change based on clinic needs
Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent required Prior experience in customer service or a front desk/medical office role required Comfortable with computer use, typing, and multitasking in a fast-paced setting Top Competencies for Success in
