Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential administrative support within a medical or dental office environment, ensuring smooth operations and excellent patient care. This role requires proficiency in medical terminology, insurance verification, and effective communication skills, particularly phone etiquette. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors with professionalism and courtesy. Manage patient scheduling, including appointments and follow-ups. Perform insurance verification and ensure accurate patient information is maintained. Assist with medical collections and billing processes. Utilize ICD-10 and ICD-9 coding for accurate documentation of diagnoses. Support the medical staff with administrative tasks as needed. Maintain confidentiality of patient records regulations. Answer phone calls promptly, addressing inquiries or directing them to the appropriate personnel. Ensure the office environment is organized, clean, and welcoming for patients. Qualifications Previous experience in a medical or dental office setting is preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology and coding (ICD-10/ICD-9). Strong phone etiquette and interpersonal communication skills. Proficient in administrative tasks including data entry and record management. Ability to handle medical collections efficiently. Knowledge of insurance verification processes is a plus. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
