Benefits may vary based upon position type and/or level. Job Summary The Room Control Coordinator collects patient details and manages service accommodations. They oversee patient transfers based on room availability and admission approval.
Shift times:
6am-6pm, three days per week (will rotate weekends as well) Essential Functions of the Role Managing reservations for new patients, emergency admissions, and outpatient clinics. Streamlining transfers from different healthcare providers by gathering necessary patient data, authorizing transfers, and obtaining approvals for policy exceptions. Working with nurses and doctors to handle reservations during busy times like bed shortages, patient overflow, and room transfers. Continuously observing hospital occupancy and approaching Business Services Management in case of potential rerouting situations. Keep and share important medical documents like physician's orders and patient histories. Document patient leaves, room rate changes, in-house transfers, and patients under 24-hour observation. Inputting data and reviewing reports of future admissions, making corrections if necessary. Revoke admitting privileges for non-compliant physicians. Work closely with Medical Records for negligence cases. Handle patient placement complaints from high occupancy and notify Business Services Management for follow-up action. Key Success Factors You have excellent interpersonal skills to interact positively with patients and staff. You understand and empathize with customers' needs and have a commitment to addressing their concerns. You are capable of handling multiple tasks and can work well under time pressure. You possess clear communication skills in both verbal and written form. You possess basic computer skills such as using software, entering data, maintaining security, documenting medical records electronically, and managing emails. Diploma or GED Equivalent
EXPERIENCE
