Classification Title:
Adjunct - Medical Office Instructor (Pool)
Department:
Office Administration Physical Demands:
Able to traverse campus, lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, reaching, handling, fine dexterity, bending, vision, hearing, and talking.
Job Summary/Basic Function:
Adjunct Instructors are hired in a part-time capacity on an as needed basis. These positions are filled prior to or during each semester and are contingent upon the needs of the College. Brazosport College accepts application materials for pool positions on a continuing basis throughout the year from qualified applicants willing to teach on a part-time basis. Academic departments will contact potential applicants when there are available openings. Reports to the Division Chair of Construction Trades, Computer Technology and Office Administration Teaches medical office classes using traditional and alternative delivery methods College benefits do not accrue with this part-time position.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Office Administration - Medical Specialization from a regionally accredited college or university Minimum of three years of non-teaching wage earning experience in the occupational field Interest in alternative instructional delivery methods Excellent written and oral communication skills Other qualities, experiences, and skills that enhance one's value to the institution Exceptional employment or educational qualifications may be given special consideration as long as Southern Association (SACS) minimum educational credentials are met Shows continued growth in teaching and through training
Desirable Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management (Preferred), with relevant work experience in administrative support, medical office administration, as applicable with relevant work experience,
