Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential administrative support within a busy medical practice, ensuring smooth operations at the front desk. This role involves managing patient interactions, handling medical documentation, and supporting clinical staff with various office functions.
A TMHP STAR + PLUS
program knowledge including EVV and billing is essential. Responsibilitiesk Assist with patient intake procedures, EVV system maintenance and billing. Maintain patient files and electronic health records (EHR systems) in compliance with HIPAA regulations Manage multi-line phone systems, answer patient inquiries with excellent phone etiquette, and provide exceptional customer service Support clinical staff with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and data entry using Microsoft Office tools like Word and Excel Ensure compliance with health information management standards and assist in care plan documentation when necessary Perform office management duties including appointment reminders, follow-up scheduling, and general clerical support Experience Knowledge of medical billing, Medicaid and private insurance companies Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), typing (including 10-key typing), and familiarity with office management software. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and health information management Exceptional patient service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and clerical experience in a healthcare setting This position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic healthcare environment where your administrative expertise will directly contribute to quality patient care.
