Full job description Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office, providing administrative support, and enhancing patient experiences. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of working in a medical office, including familiarity with billing, EOB's, electronic medical records, ICD-10, and customer service. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors in a professional manner, ensuring a welcoming environment. Manage patient appointments, including scheduling, confirming, and rescheduling as necessary. Maintain accurate patient records and files, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations. Assist with the preparation of care plans and documentation for patient treatment. Handle administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing correspondence. Support medical staff with various tasks as needed to ensure efficient office operations. Communicate effectively with patients regarding their inquiries and provide information about services. Assist patients with billing questions. Requirements Previous experience in a medical office or hospital setting is preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology, including dental terminology and coding practices (ICD-10). Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Proficient in using office equipment and software applications relevant to medical administration. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
