Bath Community Hospital is a patient-focused small hospital in rural Virginia that offers excellent working conditions, a team environment, and opportunities for professional development. The Patient Services Representative is a hybrid position and will be responsible for dividing responsibilities between areas of need in our clinics. The Patient Services Representative will be responsible for managing patient appointments, greeting and checking in patients, handling inquiries, and maintaining office organization. This role requires the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while providing exceptional service to patients and visitors. The Patient Services Representative will represent BCH professionally and positively to enhance and promote the core values and mission of Bath Community Hospital.Key Responsibilities:
Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner. Manage patient appointments, schedule new appointments, and coordinate follow-up visits. Verify patient information and insurance details. Collect co-payments and process payments accurately. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area. Manage patient records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy. Assist patients with completing necessary forms and paperwork. Respond to patient inquiries and provide information about services offered. Coordinate with medical staff to ensure smooth patient flow. Perform administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents. Assist with other duties as assigned by management.Qualifications:
Prior experience working in a medical office setting preferred. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality. Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance processes is a plus. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and tasks. Knowledge and training in HIPAA.Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Manual dexterity to operate office equipment. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.Work Location:
