Job Duties Norfolk Health Department is seeking an Office Service Specialist (OSS•Clinic to support the effective clinical operations by providing a wide range of administrative and office services in alignment with established policies and procedures. This role ensures operational efficiency through responsibilities such as scheduling, data entry, processing routine transactions, preparing correspondence, maintaining records, managing supplies, and responding to inquiries regarding clinical program services. Serving as the primary point of contact, the OSS-Clinic facilitates communication and directs patients and clients to appropriate clinical resources. This position plays a key role in advancing this mission by ensuring that clients and patients in our clinics are welcomed and served with the upmost care. Patient satisfaction is essential to ensuring smooth daily operations and delivering reliable clinical care. Minimum Qualifications General knowledge of office principles and practices. Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software applications. Ability to interpret and follow established procedures and guidelines. Ability to communicate effectively. Considerable skills in the operation of standard office equipment. Additional Considerations Experience with patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, medical records, or electronic health record systems. Experience with electronic health records system (EHR) and medical documentation platforms preferred. Experience working in healthcare, public health, or medical office setting. Experience in patient confidentially (HIPAA). Bilingual in English/Spanish.
