The Atlantic Region Central Billing Office ("ARCBO") or ("CBO") provides business office services including billing, collections, cash posting, pre-access management, variance, and customer service to our affiliated Universal Health Services hospitals.https:
//jobs.uhs.com/atlantic-region-cbo The Atlantic Region CBO is seeking a dynamic and talented Pre-Services Specialist. The Pre-Sevices Specialist is responsible for taking inbound calls, making outbound calls, timely and accurately scheduling and pre-registering patients in the SMS and Cerner systems. The Pre-Serivces Specialist will also be responsible for attempting to collect co-pays and deductibles from patient at the time of pre-registration. This position is also responsible for interpreting managed care contracts; Medicare regulations; medical and anatomy terminology and applying the knowledge to the scheduling and registration process.Key Responsibilities include:
Perform scheduling, pre-registration and if needed insurance verification within 24 hours of receipt of reservation/notification for both inpatient and outpatient services Contact physician to resolve issues regarding prior authorization or referral forms Research patient visit history to ensure compliance with the Medicare 72 hour rule and complete the Medicare Secondary payer questionnaire and ABN as applicable Contact patient in a timely and courteous manner to confirm or obtain missing demographic information in Invision PDIX, quote/collect patient payment and instruct patient on where to present at time of appointment Perform electronic eligibility confirmation utilizing HDX and calling insurances when necessary Work with facility departments and internal departments of the CBO to investigate and resolve issues associated with patient or insurance company inquiries Act as a liaison to the hospital departments in resolving issues and documenting accordingly Implements and follows system downtime procedures when necessary Other duties as assignedBenefit & Rewards Highlights:

High school diploma or equivalent 1-3 years healthcare experience preferred Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook) Customer focused both internally and externally, strong attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, strong 10 key data entry, and excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
