Job Description

Job Description Shifa Health has been dedicated to reducing suffering by providing high-quality mental health services since 2003. Our multidisciplinary team includes Psychiatrists, Psychiatric Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners, Psychologists, and Licensed Mental Health Counselors. We are currently seeking a professional, friendly, and energetic Front and Back Office Medical Assistant to join our team full-time. This position will be based primarily at our Mount Vernon location, with occasional coverage at our Everett location as needed. While many of our patients are seen via Telehealth, most appointments continue to take place in the office.
Responsibilities include:
Processing medical records requests Providing excellent customer service by phone, including answering calls and patient questions Insurance verification Requesting prior authorizations for medications Calling in prescriptions Electronic filing and faxing Processing patient payments Providing backup support for Spravato treatments (primarily monitoring and taking vitals) Assisting with special projects, including marketing and community outreach
Qualifications:
Medical Assistant training or relevant experience performing the duties listed above Working knowledge of HIPAA, medical insurance processes, and healthcare terminology Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Excellent interpersonal, verbal (including phone), and written communication skills Flexible, dependable team player with a positive and professional attitude The ideal candidate consistently delivers high-quality customer service and promotes respectful, professional interactions with patients, clinic staff, and external partners.
