Patient Authorization & Referral Representative (PARR)
Location :
Tukwila, WA Specialty Medical Staffing is currently seeking a Patient Authorization & Referral Representative (PARR) for a contract-to-hire opportunity in the Tukwila, WA area. This position plays a key role in supporting patient access and insurance verification processes while ensuring accurate and timely coordination of referrals and authorizations. This is an excellent opportunity for a licensed Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Assistant (required) who is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable navigating complex insurance and authorization requirements.

Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm
Weekend:
Rotating half-day weekend shifts after training Requirements Active state Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Assistant license required Previous experience with insurance verification, referrals, authorizations, or related healthcare administrative functions required Strong understanding of medical insurance plans and benefits Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Demonstrated stability and longevity in previous healthcare-related roles preferred Responsibilities Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits Process referrals and authorization requests Communicate with insurance carriers, providers, and patients regarding coverage requirements Research and resolve insurance and authorization issues Maintain accurate documentation and records Support patient access and scheduling processes as needed Benefits Full medical benefits Comprehensive 401k package Weekly Direct Deposit payments Professional support from our experienced team Opportunity for long-term employment Want to learn more about what it is like to work for SMS?
