Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE
Sequoia Detox Centers is seeking an experienced and credentialed Program Director to lead all phases of operation across our 15-bed residential detoxification facility and a separate outpatient center in Spokane Valley, Washington. This is a mission-critical leadership role for a clinician-administrator who believes recovery begins with dignified, evidence-based care.•
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee day-to-day operations of the 15-bed residential detox unit and separate outpatient program Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate clinical and administrative staff across both sites Ensure compliance with state licensing, Joint Commission standards, and HIPAA regulations Develop and implement clinical programming, policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives Manage budgets, billing workflows, and relationships with insurance/managed care payors Cultivate community partnerships with referral sources, hospitals, and county behavioral health agencies Provide crisis support and consultation to clinical staff; maintain high standards for patient safety Report directly to ownership/executive leadership on operational metrics and program outcomes•
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
License/Credential:
Active WA state licensure as LICSW, LMFT, LMHC, or CADC-S; CDP preferred
Education:
Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, nursing, or related behavioral health field
Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years in SUD/detox or behavioral health; at least 2 years in a supervisory or director-level role
Knowledge:
Solid understanding of ASAM criteria, detoxification protocols, and co-occurring disorder treatment
Compliance:
Familiarity with WA DOH licensing requirements and
DBHR/BHA
regulations
Other:
Cleared background check; valid WA driver's license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening•
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with CARF accreditation or Joint Commission survey readiness Background in Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) and opioid use disorder care Prior experience opening or expanding a residential or outpatient treatment facility Familiarity with EHR platforms used in SUD settings (e.g., Kipu, Netsmart, WEBeR) Lived experience with recovery, combined with professional licensure, is welcomed and valued•
