Full Job Description Patient Service Representative Job Summary:
A Patient Service Representative is the first line of contact between patients and our clinics and physicians. The Patient Service Representative follows Madison Medical standards of practice, policies and procedures and supports the philosophy by incorporating them into the clinic. This full time position reports to the Clinic Supervisor/Regional Director of Operations and is located in Milwaukee, WI. Responsibilities Greets patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner, performs patient check in and check out processes. Answers incoming phone calls, screens calls, and takes messages and/or facilitates completion of call. Performs reminder calls prior to appointments. Schedules patients according to provider protocol. Completes patient registration and checks insurance eligibility for every patient to ensure payer information is correct and current. Collects co-pays and prior balances from patients at the time of their visit. Prepares charts for patient visits. Process insurance (wrong insurance, no insurance) reports monthly. Maintains work area and lobby in a neat and orderly manner. Works with physicians and other staff to acquire additional information to achieve document completeness. Demonstrates professionalism and excellent customer service, communication and patient assistance both in person and on the phone. Performs other duties as assigned. Key Qualifications & Characteristics High School Diploma or GED Strong data entry skills and ability to work with computer applications Organized with a strong attention to detail in a fast paced environment Strong and comfortable communicating with patients, peers, and physicians Demonstrated ability to work well both independently and with co-workers in a team Demonstrated ability to work with confidential information.
