Job Description

Respiratory Therapist (RT) - Pediatric Respiratory Care (Full-Time/Part-Time) Pediatric Complex Care of Arkansas (PCCA) is a long-term residential facility caring for children with special needs. Many of our residents have severe developmental delays and medical complexities, relying on our staff for support with daily activities and specialized care. We are seeking a nurturing, energetic Respiratory Therapist (RT), either RRT or CRT, to provide expert respiratory care for our medically complex pediatric population. This is an excellent opportunity to grow your clinical skills while making a meaningful difference in the lives of children with complex pulmonary and medical needs.

5:00PM-12:00AM Education & Licensure Must meet state education requirements for Respiratory Therapist licensure Must hold current RRT or CRT certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Must maintain current BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR or CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer certification Pediatric experience preferred but not required Overview - Respiratory Therapist / Respiratory Care Under the direct supervision of the Team Leader and Director of Nursing, the Respiratory Therapist provides direct respiratory care to children within assigned units. The RT restores and maintains pulmonary function, supports life, alleviates respiratory distress, and ensures safe, effective care through the planning and administration of medically prescribed respiratory therapies. Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities Administer daily respiratory therapy treatments, including bronchopulmonary drainage and assisted breathing exercises Monitor physiological responses and provide interventions to optimize pulmonary function Document patient responses and changes in condition accurately and completely Maintain and coordinate cleaning and upkeep of respiratory therapy equipment according to infection control protocols Consult on pulmonary care needs for residents, coordinating with interdisciplinary team members Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other staff regarding respiratory care Collaborate with the care team to achieve individualized patient goals Assume accountability for all respiratory care provided during shifts Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with healthcare and therapy teams Ability to follow detailed treatment plans and safety protocols Compassionate, patient, and attentive to the unique needs of medically complex children Safety sensitive position PCCA is an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, sexual orientation, or gender identity), national origin, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, or any other legally protected status.
