We welcome you to apply & join our family today! Responsibilities Providing care to adult residents with Intellectual Disabilities is a rewarding experience both on a professional and personal level. Unlike clinics and hospitals, you will care for the same individuals each day becoming part of their extended community family. Our adult residents are looking for trusted Respiratory Therapist, you are that person, bringing a smile to their face each time, they see you.
  • Provide emergency care, including artificial respiration, external cardiac massage and assistance with cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
  • Determine requirements for treatment, such as type, method and duration of therapy, precautions to be taken, and medication and dosages, compatible with physicians' orders.
  • Monitor patient's physiological responses to therapy, such as vital signs, arterial blood gases, and blood chemistry changes, and consult with physician if adverse reactions occur.
  • Read prescription, measure arterial blood gases, and review patient information to assess patient condition.
  • Work as part of a team of physicians, nurses and other health care professionals to manage patient care.
  • Enforce safety rules and ensure careful adherence to physicians' orders.
  • Maintain charts that contain patients' pertinent identification and therapy information.
  • Inspect, clean, test and maintain respiratory therapy equipment to ensure equipment is functioning safely and efficiently, ordering repairs when necessary.
  • Demonstrate respiratory care procedures to trainees and other health care personnel.
  • Make emergency visits to resolve equipment problems.
  • Develop and implement individual treatment plans for residents
  • Assist with daily living activities, including assisting with personal hygiene
  • Develop a rapport with residents and cultivate a safe and supportive relationship
  • Ensure an appropriate staff-to-client ratio at all times Job Description Qualifications Requirements to be an RT Respiratory Therapist As a RT, you will implement and coordinate the delivery of care in collaboration with physicians and resource health care personnel.
Respiratory Therapist will direct resident care to include making rounds on a timely basis to ensure continuity of care as well as documenting all pertinent information regarding care and observation of residents' overall condition and behavior. RT's utilize the process (assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation) in ensuring overall resident care. RT License is required Shift available: 6am-2pm
