Respiratory Therapist

Duties Assess patients' respiratory status through detailed evaluation of vital signs, oxygen saturation, and lung function tests. Administer respiratory therapies such as oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and medication delivery with precision and care. Manage ventilator systems for patients requiring mechanical ventilation, ensuring optimal settings and safety protocols are maintained. Perform airway management procedures including intubation, extubation, and suctioning in emergency or routine situations. Monitor patient progress continuously, adjusting treatment plans based on physiological responses and clinical assessments. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in hospital medicine, emergency medicine, pediatrics, geriatrics, and critical care units like the ICU and Level I/II trauma centers. Document all interventions accurately in medical records while adhering to hospital policies and medical terminology standards. Experience Proven experience in hospital environments with a focus on critical care, pulmonology, or emergency medicine. Hands-on experience with ventilator management, airway procedures, and acute care protocols. Familiarity with physiology and anatomy related to respiratory function across diverse patient populations including pediatrics and geriatrics. Strong background in patient assessment, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and respiratory therapy techniques. Previous work in Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable; outpatient or clinic experience is a plus. Knowledge of hospital procedures involving inpatient and outpatient care settings within ICU or pulmonology units. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) are advantageous.
