Position Overview:
The Respiratory Therapy Lead is responsible for overseeing the respiratory care department, ensuring that all staff provide safe, effective, and compassionate respiratory care. This role involves managing a team of respiratory therapists, coordinating with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations. The manager will also be involved in patient assessment, treatment planning, and the implementation of respiratory therapy interventions. Provide leadership and direction to the respiratory therapy team, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations. Ensure that all staff provide safe, effective, and compassionate respiratory care. Assess patients' respiratory conditions and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare providers. Oversee and perform respiratory therapy treatments, such as aerosol therapy, oxygen therapy, respiratory assessments, and other respiratory care interventions as needed. Ensure proper operation, maintenance, and safety of respiratory therapy equipment; manage inventory and procurement of supplies. Develop, implement, and update departmental policies and procedures to align with best practices and regulatory standards. Monitor and evaluate the quality of respiratory care services, implementing improvements as necessary to enhance patient outcomes. Qualifications:
Active Respiratory Therapist License in California is required Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program Minimum of 1 year of respiratory therapy experience in Skilled nursing, long-term care, post-acute, or other relevant healthcare experience is preferred Prior leadership, charge, lead, supervisory, or management experience preferred Strong knowledge of respiratory treatments, oxygen therapy, respiratory assessments, and related clinical practices Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills Ability to collaborate effectively with nursing leadership, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams
Schedule:
4x10 schedule: Monday through Thursday, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM (four 10-hour shifts per week).
