Job Description

Active Registered Respiratory Tech (RRT) license and 2+ years of in-patient hospital Respiratory Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. As a Respiratory Therapist on assignment here, you'll broaden your expertise by working in varied patient care areas—including Emergency, Neonatal, Pediatric, Geriatric, and Critical Care. This role puts you at the forefront of respiratory care, from performing arterial blood gas draws and managing ventilators to patient assessment and education. Each shift presents unique scenarios, allowing you to expand your knowledge and experience new workplace practices and leadership styles that will enhance your resume and prepare you for future advancement. By collaborating with experienced professionals and embracing department protocols, you'll refine skills vital for both acute intervention and long-term care. Schedule/Hours:
Travel position; schedule details provided on assignment
Qualifications:
Graduate of a COARC-approved Respiratory Care Program; current CRT credential (NBRC guidelines) BLS required within 90 days of hire; NRP within 6 months At least one year of hospital-based respiratory therapy experience Proficiency in pulmonary diagnostics, cardiac diagnostics (EKG, Holter/event monitor, stress testing) is a plus Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and health requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver evidence-based respiratory care across all patient age groups and acuity levels Monitor, assess, and document clinical status and therapeutic interventions Verify and implement physician's orders for respiratory therapy Operate, troubleshoot, and manage respiratory equipment and ventilators Participate in orientation and training of new staff, students, and peers Maintain adherence to infection control, safety, and hospital compliance protocols
