  • Position Purpose
  • The Pulmonary Function Tech will assist with the overall functioning of the pulmonary department.
  • What you will do
  • + Perform routine function tests according to protocols established by the ATS including PFTs, DLCO, FRC, (with and without bronchodilators) Methacholine Challenge tests, and oximetry both at rest and with exercise + Explain and demonstrate testing and instructs patients in testing procedures to ensure patient's best effort + Provide first level trouble shooting for pulmonary function equipment and perform quality control procedures on pulmonary testing equipment to ensure proper operation and integrity of test results •Minimum Qualifications•+ Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy and/or certification as a Pulmonary Function Technologist + 1 to 2 years respiratory therapy experience as an RRT in hospital or physician office, and/or a minimum of 6 months to 2 years of experience as a pulmonary function technologist + Proficiency with pulmonary function testing and equipment •Position Highlights and Benefits•+ per diem •Ministry/Facility Information•Saint Mary's Hospital is a Catholic, not-for-profit, acute care, community teaching hospital that has served Greater Waterbury since 1909.
