This person must have good communication and prioritizing skills. Prior experience in a home care setting required. Registered, Registry eligible or equivalent training and experience Respiratory Therapist.

Clericalskillsare requiredtocompleteactivitiesassociatedwithdailyoperations. TheRespiratoryTechnicianmustdevelopathorough knowledgeofallhomemedicalequipment,with an emphasis onRespiratoryequipment. Inaddition,knowledge of Medicareregulationsandotherinsuranceguidelines andregulations is necessary. Tact,goodjudgment,verbalability, andapositive attitudeareveryimportantattributeswhendealingwithclients, families,physicians,nurses,andallreferralsources. Responsibilities and Duties

TECHNICAL/ADMINISTRATIVE/CLINICAL

Demonstratescompetenceintheskills, (processes,procedures,andequipment) necessarytocarryoutassigneddutiesasidentifiedbelow.

Demonstratedcompetenceinrecognizingandrespondingtopatients'physical,mental,emotional,anddevelopmentalneedsshouldbe evaluatedinrelationtothepatientpopulationsservedas appropriateforeachresponsibility. A. PerformsdutiesassociatedwithdispensingHomeMedicalEquipment primary respiratoryequipmentforMedCareInfusionServices,Inc. 1. Coordinates delivery ofandinstructsclientsontheuseofhomemedicalequipment,primarily respiratoryEquipment.

Evaluate the clientsmedical requirements andplaceappropriateequipmenttomeettheclient'sneedsathome.

DiscussesMedicareandInsurancerequirementsandcoveragewithclients families,physicians,andotherpartiesconcerned. 2. Obtainsverbalordersfromphysiciansandveritiesinsurancecoverageandpriorauthorizationsforequipmentandsupplies.

Obtainsandcompletesinitialpaperwork, entersclientinsurance, medical,anddemographicinformation,andchargesinto the computersystem. 3. Implementsandchangesin the courseoftreatmentprescribed by the client'sphysician. Problem-solve/troubleshootwithclientsandcaregiverswhoareexperiencingproblems. 4. Initiates,schedules,andcompletesfollow-upphonecalls, assessments,andhomevisitsforCPAP machines,andotherrespiratoryequipmentasnecessary. Assessesclientstolerance,compliance,andsatisfactionregardingequipmentinuseasnecessary. Documentsfindings. 5. ActsasalliaisonbetweenMedcareInfusionServices,Inc.,caregivers,Physicians,andHomeCareNursingProviders.

Completes follow-upreportswhenrequired. 6. Ensure compliance with the organization's Code of Conduct and all applicable laws, including HIPAA regulations for the protection of sensitive information.
