- Provide intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed, including operation of invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices
- Evaluate patients and recommend treatment plans; explain procedures, treatments, and equipment to patients and provide discharge education
- Perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning, oximetry and capnography monitoring, pulmonary function studies, and routine chest x-ray review
- Perform arterial punctures, 12-Lead EKGs, basic arrhythmia recognition, tracheostomy care, and insertion/removal of endotracheal and tracheostomy tubes
- Assist with respiratory-related procedures such as bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomies, and chest tube placement; perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation per BLS and ACLS guidelines
- Accurately document all treatments, patient responses, and respiratory therapy charges; communicate patient status during shift-to-shift handoff rounds
