Job Description Provides polysomnographic testing to patients from newborn to 21 years of age consistent with accepted standards. Proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Experience 1 year Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) Preferred Qualifications Experience in pediatrics 1 year of experience in polysomnography Education High school diploma or equivalent Successful completion of a CoARC accredited Respiratory Therapy program Certification Sum mary Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC), with an active Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) license from the State of Georgia Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association within 30 days of employment Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong organizational capabilities and communication skills Enthusiasm and willingness to work with others Job Responsibilities Independently performs diagnostic polysomnographic testing and scoring in accordance with accepted national standards to patients from newborn to 21 years of age, integrating emotional, psychosocial, educational, and growth and development needs of the patient and family. Monitors and appropriately addresses the comprehension, understanding, and compliance of the patient and family with regard to treatment and testing. Identifies and corrects issues with testing technical quality. May assist with orientation of new staff and participate in quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives.
