Travel assignment; schedule details provided during interview process
Ideal Experience & Qualifications:
Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license Experience in acute, critical illness, or rehabilitation settings preferred Proficient in invasive and non-invasive ventilator management Strong patient assessment, education, and communication skills Current BLS and ACLS certification required
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate patients, develop individualized care plans, and provide intensive respiratory therapies Deliver physician-prescribed treatments using ventilatory, oxygen, and aerosol devices Perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning, tracheostomy care, oximetry, capnography, and arterial punctures Operate, maintain, and monitor ventilatory equipment Complete pulmonary function studies, 12-lead EKGs, bronchoscopies, and support chest tube placements as needed Deliver patient education on equipment and care at discharge Maintain accurate documentation and participate in shift-to-shift handoffs Ensure equipment preventive maintenance and timely reporting of results
