Job Description

Category Respiratory Therapist Job Type Contract A well-established hospital in Southwestern Georgia is seeking a skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to join the team for a 17-week contract. You'll be working 7p-7a shifts, primarily in ICU and ER settings, providing expert care to a diverse patient population from pediatrics through adults.
Schedule:
Night shifts, 7:00 pm - 7:00 am Work on either a Monday-Thursday or Friday-Sunday team (hours specified in advance) Holidays are rotated in with permanent staff; expect to work every other holiday
Qualifications:
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential Active Georgia state respiratory therapy license Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (NRP required if covering NICU) Minimum of 2 years of respiratory therapy experience, including 1 completed travel contract At least 1 year in a 300+ bed facility; critical care experience essential Strict 75-mile radius rule applies Strong comfort level with intubating patients and high, heavy workloads Recent experience in ICU/ER preferred Must be able to work ventilators (Servo U and I models), perform ABG collection, manage airways, and participate in emergency response Proficiency in
Meditech EMR Key Responsibilities:
Deliver a full spectrum of respiratory therapy, including nebs, airway management, vapotherm, BiPAP, CPAP, ventilator management, and bronchs Serve as primary intubator during codes until hospitalist or intensivist arrives Manage 13-15 patients per shift, averaging 550 treatment minutes per night Conduct and interpret bedside PFTs, blood gases, and participate in vent rounds Floating between adult, pediatric, and occasionally NICU patients (as assigned) Participate in structured floor and ICU orientation
