Respiratory Therapist RRT PRN Nights About the
Role:
The Respiratory Therapist RRT PRN Nights at Morgan Medical Center plays a critical role in delivering high-quality respiratory care to patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions. This position involves assessing, treating, and monitoring patients to improve their respiratory function and overall health outcomes. The therapist collaborates closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans. Additionally, the role requires the use of specialized respiratory equipment and techniques to support patient breathing and recovery. Ultimately, the therapist ensures patient safety and comfort while promoting optimal respiratory health through evidence-based practices.
Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive respiratory assessments and develop treatment plans tailored to patient needs. Administer respiratory therapies including oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and mechanical ventilation management. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments as necessary in collaboration with the healthcare team. Operate and maintain respiratory care equipment, ensuring proper function and safety standards. Educate patients and their families on respiratory care techniques and disease management. Respond promptly to respiratory emergencies and provide critical care support as needed. Document all patient interactions, treatments, and outcomes accurately in medical records. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and stay current with respiratory care best practices.

The required skills enable the therapist to perform detailed patient assessments and deliver precise respiratory treatments, ensuring patient safety and effective care. Minimum Qualifications:
Current and valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential. State licensure to practice as a Respiratory Therapist. Minimum of an associate degree in Respiratory Therapy Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy. Experience working in an acute care hospital setting. Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and respiratory care documentation software.
