Job Description

Category Respiratory Therapist Job Type Contract A major healthcare provider in Southwestern Georgia is seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist for a 17-week contract assignment on the night shift (7:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.). This dynamic clinical role is pivotal in delivering advanced respiratory care in ICU and Emergency Department settings at a large hospital with over 300 beds.
Schedule/Holidays Night shift:
7p-7a, three 12-hour shifts per week Rotating holidays with permanent staff (expect every other holiday) No call Team-based scheduling: Monday-Thursday team or Friday-Sunday weekend team Qualifications Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Current Georgia RT license BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required Critical Care experience essential—minimum 2 years in relevant settings and at least 1 prior travel contract Prior experience in a hospital with 300+ beds Proven skill and comfort with airway management, intubations, and ventilators (Servo U and I models) Familiar with high acuity and heavy workload environments (average 13-15 patients per shift)
EMR:
Meditech proficiency preferred Must live outside 75 miles from facility Primary Responsibilities Deliver all core respiratory therapy interventions, including nebs, airway management, vapotherm, bipap, cpap, ventilators, and ABG collection Participate in bedside PFTs, CPT, and bronchs
In ICU:
place arterial lines, manage blood gases, and perform or assist with intubations Manage a broad spectrum of patient conditions such as COPD, CHF, ARDS, pneumonia, and respiratory failure Confidently assess, recommend, and manage complex adult ICU cases, including ventilatory support and ABG analysis Orient to hospital systems and floor assignments with a dedicated training period Ceil blue scrubs and jackets are required attire Be part of a high-performing multidisciplinary team tackling complex respiratory cases and making a vital difference for critically ill patients.
