Job Description

Category Respiratory - Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Type Travel Step into a vital role dedicated to life-saving neonatal care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist specializing in NICU transport. Work at a leading healthcare facility equipped with advanced Hamilton and Cross ventilators, providing intensive support to our most vulnerable patients.
Schedule:
Shifts scheduled 2-3 times per week
Qualifications and Experience:
Valid RRT or CRT certification required Minimum of 2 years' experience in neonatal transport within a NICU setting Current certifications in NRP and PALS; STABLE preferred Strong proficiency in neonatal airway management, ventilator support (conventional, HFOV, CPAP/NIV, HFNC), and transport ventilators Advanced understanding of transport physiology (motion, altitude, vibration, temperature effects) Familiarity with transport isolette systems, EMS integration, oxygen and gas supply monitoring, and equipment troubleshooting Proven skills in rapid crisis management, infection control, and patient safety protocols
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver critical care and advanced respiratory support to neonates during interfacility transports Safely operate and monitor transport equipment, maintaining patient stability in ground and air transport scenarios Document patient status, interventions, and all transport events using a paper-based system Assist with line placements, manage advanced airways, and perform essential procedures such as ABG/CBG testing and glucose monitoring Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to provide seamless patient transfers and handoffs Adhere strictly to hospital policies, dress code (black on black scrubs), and all unit-specific clinical guidelines Why Choose This Opportunity?
