Job Description

Category Respiratory - Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Type Travel Deliver expert respiratory care to newborns and infants as part of a specialized neonatal transport team. This contract opportunity focuses on high-acuity neonatal respiratory support, including advanced airway management and critical transport operations. Work collaboratively in a NICU environment equipped with state-of-the-art technology such as Hamilton and Cross Vent ventilators, and paper-based documentation. Staff are valued for their specialized knowledge, and your experience will directly impact neonatal patient outcomes.
Schedule:
Shifts are scheduled approximately 2-3 times per week
Qualifications:
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required; STABLE preferred Minimum of 2 years' experience with NICU transport Proficient in neonatal airway stabilization, mask ventilation, ventilator management (including
HFOV, CPAP/NIV, HFNC
), and use of transport ventilators Strong competency in transport physiology, isolette systems, EMS integration, and safety protocols for ground and air transport Experienced in point-of-care testing (ABG/CBG, glucose), advanced airway management, and neonatal critical care
Responsibilities:
Provide safe transport and respiratory care for critically ill neonates, ensuring stability during transition Perform advanced procedures such as bag-mask ventilation, airway securing, and assist with line placements (PIV/UVC) Troubleshoot transport equipment, monitor gas supplies, and manage power sources in mobile settings Communicate effectively within multidisciplinary teams, coordinating handoffs between facilities Document interventions, assessments, and transport events accurately Respond adeptly to crises and ensure infection control standards are maintained
