Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Full Time Permanent

Job description Memorial Health, a leading healthcare provider in Savannah, Georgia, is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care to individuals with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary conditions across a variety of hospital settings, including emergency, critical care, and general medical-surgical units. As a Respiratory Therapist at Memorial Health, you will perform comprehensive respiratory assessments, implement and adjust therapy plans based on physician orders and clinical protocols, and monitor patient responses to treatment. Your responsibilities will include setting up, managing, and troubleshooting mechanical ventilators and non-invasive ventilation; administering oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, and chest physiotherapy; and obtaining and interpreting arterial blood gases and other diagnostic tests to guide care decisions. You will respond promptly to respiratory emergencies and code situations, providing skilled airway management and life-supporting interventions as part of a coordinated interdisciplinary team. You will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans that reflect our commitment to compassionate, evidence-based practice. Education is a critical component of this role: you will teach patients and families about respiratory conditions, proper use of inhalers and home oxygen equipment, and strategies to manage and prevent exacerbations. Accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record, strict adherence to infection prevention and safety standards, and meticulous care of respiratory therapy equipment are essential expectations.
