• Evaluate patients' respiratory conditions by conducting physical examinations and reviewing medical histories.
• Administer respiratory therapies including medical gas delivery, nebulization, chest physiotherapy, airway management, and mechanical ventilation (invasive and non-invasive) for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and neonatal patients.
• Perform diagnostic testing such as arterial blood gas (ABG) collection and analysis, pulmonary function testing, and pulse oximetry
• Monitor patient physiological responses to treatments and adjust care or escalate concerns as appropriate.
• Manage artificial airways and troubleshoot respiratory equipment to ensure patient safety and therapy effectiveness.
• Active member of the medical emergency response teams.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough documentation in the patient electronic medical record (EMR.).
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams regarding patient status and therapy plans.
• Provide assistance with internal patient transports.

Qualifications Education:

Registered Respiratory Therapists as recognized by the National Board for Respiratory Care required. Bachelor's/Associate's degree required.

Experience:

Two (2) years of clinical experience preferred. License(s)/Certification(s): Current BCLS certification or obtain within 30 days of hire required. Current licensure in good standing to practice as an RCP in Iowa required. Current NBRC certificate required. ACLS and NRP required within 6 months of hire.
