- Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary disorders. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, as well as the ability to work effectively in both inpatient and emergency medicine settings. The Respiratory Therapist will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to patients of all ages, including pediatrics. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine respiratory needs and develop appropriate treatment plans. Administer respiratory therapy treatments, including airway management techniques and the use of various therapeutic devices. Monitor vital signs and evaluate patient responses to therapy, adjusting treatment plans as necessary. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. Educate patients and their families on respiratory health, treatment options, and home care strategies. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations. Participate in emergency response situations as needed, providing acute care for patients in critical conditions. Requirements Valid Respiratory Therapy license or certification in accordance with state regulations. Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to respiratory care. Proficiency in airway management techniques and equipment operation. In-depth understanding of anatomy and physiology related to the respiratory system. Experience in patient assessment and developing individualized treatment plans. Familiarity with pediatric respiratory care is preferred but not required. Ability to work effectively in inpatient settings as well as emergency medicine environments. Knowledge of vital signs monitoring and interpretation is essential. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with healthcare teams.
