Job Description

The Student Respiratory Therapist possesses working knowledge of routine respiratory care and has displayed age-specific competence in his/her educational program. The student conducts himself/herself in a professional manner and is courteous to patients, physicians, visitors, members of the department and all other healthcare personnel. Supports and contributes to departmental productivity and organizational objectives by functioning as an integrated member of the respiratory care team and performs services consistent with his/her scope of licensure.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Student Respiratory Therapist will perform respiratory care procedures approved by the Indiana Respiratory Care Committee.
Job Qualification Requirements Education:
Enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Therapist Program (one year completed)
Licensure/Certification:
Valid student permit issued by the Indiana Respiratory Care Committee.
Experience:
Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive data at all times. Adheres to hospital and department specific safety standards and guidelines. Ability to work collaboratively and supports efforts of team members. Demonstrates exceptional customer service and interacts effectively with physicians, patients, visitors, staff and the broader health care community.
