In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients across various clinical settings, including inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and critical care environments. Your expertise will support patient recovery and stabilization through precise assessment, intervention, and management of respiratory conditions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in respiratory therapy practices, physiology, and anatomy, with the ability to adapt to diverse patient needs in high-pressure situations. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments to evaluate respiratory status, including vital signs and oxygen saturation levels. Administer respiratory therapies such as oxygen delivery, aerosol treatments, and medication administration. Manage ventilator support for patients requiring mechanical ventilation, ensuring optimal settings and patient comfort. Perform airway management procedures including intubation, suctioning, and airway clearance techniques. Monitor and interpret medical terminology related to pulmonology and critical care to inform treatment plans. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in hospital medicine, emergency medicine, ICU, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), and trauma centers to deliver coordinated respiratory care. Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and treatment interventions in compliance with hospital protocols. Support emergency response efforts by providing critical respiratory interventions during acute episodes. Ensure adherence to safety standards by performing regular equipment checks and maintaining infection control practices. Participate in ongoing education related to physiology knowledge, medication administration, and advanced respiratory techniques. Skills Proven experience in hospital medicine with a focus on critical care environments such as ICU, Level I Trauma Center, or Level II Trauma Center. Strong background in emergency medicine procedures and acute care management. Extensive knowledge of pulmonology principles, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. Proficiency in ventilator management and airway management techniques. Ability to perform patient assessment accurately and respond effectively in high-stakes situations. Familiarity with outpatient clinics and geriatrics populations enhances versatility. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) are preferred. Excellent communication skills to collaborate with healthcare professionals across disciplines. Experience with hospital equipment maintenance and infection control protocols.
