Duration:
13 Weeks We are seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our dynamic healthcare team in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The successful candidate will provide specialized respiratory care to patients across various hospital settings, including critical care units, emergency departments, and outpatient clinics. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where your expertise in respiratory therapy and patient assessment will directly impact patient outcomes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in airway management, ventilator support, and acute care procedures, ensuring the delivery of high-quality respiratory services. Duties Assess patients' respiratory status through vital signs, oxygen saturation levels, and clinical evaluation to determine appropriate interventions. Administer respiratory treatments such as nebulizers, oxygen therapy, and aerosol medications in accordance with physician orders. Manage ventilator settings for patients requiring mechanical ventilation, ensuring optimal oxygenation and ventilation. Monitor and adjust ventilator parameters based on patient response and physiology knowledge. Perform airway management procedures including intubation assistance and suctioning to maintain airway patency. Conduct patient education on respiratory therapies, medication administration, and breathing exercises. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in critical care environments such as ICU, PICU, and trauma centers to develop comprehensive care plans. Document all interventions accurately within electronic health records while maintaining compliance with hospital policies. Respond promptly to emergency situations requiring airway or ventilator support in emergency medicine or trauma cases. Maintain proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and pulmonology principles relevant to inpatient and outpatient care. Experience Proven experience working within hospital medicine, emergency medicine, or critical care settings such as ICU or Level I/II trauma centers. Demonstrated competence in airway management techniques and ventilator troubleshooting. Prior experience with pediatrics (PICU), geriatrics, or outpatient clinics is highly desirable. Familiarity with hospital protocols related to acute care procedures and medication administration. Strong background in patient assessment, vital signs monitoring, and physiology fundamentals. Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to respiratory therapy and inpatient/outpatient environments. Experience working with ventilators, pulmonology equipment, and critical care technology. Ability to adapt quickly to high-pressure situations while maintaining attention to detail.
