required Patient population: Adults 1-2 yrs ICU experience preferred Prior travel experience EPIC experience Responsibilities Assess patients' respiratory status through detailed evaluation of vital signs, oxygen levels, and physical examination. Administer respiratory therapies including oxygen delivery, aerosol treatments, and medication administration. Manage ventilator settings and monitor patients on mechanical ventilation to ensure optimal respiratory function. Perform airway management procedures such as intubation, suctioning, and tracheostomy care with precision and safety. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in hospital medicine, emergency medicine, pediatrics, geriatrics, and pulmonology to develop individualized treatment plans. Respond promptly to emergency situations requiring airway management or acute respiratory intervention. Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, treatments administered, and response to therapies. Ensure compliance with hospital protocols and safety standards related to respiratory care. Participate in ongoing education to stay current with advances in respiratory therapy techniques and equipment. Support patient education on respiratory health management for both inpatient and outpatient populations. Qualifications Certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from an accredited program is required. Proven experience in hospital settings such as
ICU, PICU
(Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), Level I or Level II trauma centers preferred. Demonstrated expertise in critical care environments including ventilator management and airway procedures. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and pharmacology related to respiratory therapy. Experience with emergency medicine protocols and acute care procedures essential. Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and respond effectively in high-pressure situations. Familiarity with hospital information systems and documentation standards. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams and patient families. Knowledge of outpatient clinic operations is advantageous but not mandatory. This position is integral to delivering high-quality respiratory care that enhances patient recovery across diverse clinical settings.
