Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients across various settings, including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, emergency departments, and critical care environments. Your expertise will support patient recovery by managing respiratory conditions, administering therapies, and ensuring optimal airway function. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in respiratory therapy principles, physiology, and anatomy, with a commitment to delivering high-quality patient-centered care in a dynamic hospital setting. required Patient population: Adults 1-2 yrs ICU experience preferred Prior travel experience EPIC experience Responsibilities Assess patients' respiratory status through detailed evaluation of vital signs, oxygen saturation levels, and physical examination findings. Develop and implement individualized respiratory treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and multidisciplinary teams. Administer respiratory therapies such as oxygen delivery, nebulization, aerosol treatments, and medication administration. Manage ventilator support for patients requiring mechanical ventilation, ensuring proper settings and monitoring for efficacy. Perform airway management procedures including intubation assistance and suctioning to maintain airway patency. Monitor patient responses to treatments, adjusting protocols as necessary based on physiological data and clinical judgment. Maintain accurate documentation of interventions, patient progress, and treatment outcomes in medical records. Respond promptly to emergency situations involving airway compromise or respiratory distress. Participate in patient education regarding respiratory health management and medication use. Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, safety standards, and infection control procedures. Skills Extensive knowledge of hospital medicine, critical care practices, and emergency medicine protocols. Proven experience working within intensive care units (ICU), pediatric units (PICU), or trauma centers (Level I & II). Proficiency in ventilator management and airway management techniques. Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology related to respiratory health. Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and interpret vital signs accurately. Experience with pulmonology procedures and acute care interventions. Familiarity with outpatient clinics and geriatrics care environments is advantageous. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams and patient education. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) are preferred. Ability to adapt quickly in high-pressure situations while maintaining attention to detail.
