Qualifications & Experience:
Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential Active state licensure or eligibility for Michigan licensure Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited respiratory therapy program Current BLS and ACLS certifications required Minimum of one year's recent experience in an acute care or hospital environment Excellent assessment, clinical, and communication skills Ability to adapt quickly to new teams and settings
Responsibilities:
Administer respiratory therapy to patients with acute and chronic illness, following the physician's orders Perform assessments and develop individualized care plans Monitor and document patient progress, making adjustments as necessary Operate and maintain respiratory equipment, ensuring safety and accuracy Educate patients and families about respiratory treatments and home care Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members Respond to emergency codes and provide life-support measures as needed
