Day Shift. Hours may be adjusted in response to workload demands. Low census may be utilized in accordance with hospital policy.
Job summary:
Under the general supervision of the Medical Director of Cardiopulmonary and the Director of Cardiopulmonary Diagnostic Imaging and under the direct supervision of the Cardiopulmonary Department Manager and Registered Respiratory Therapist, the Cardiopulmonary Assistant performs outpatient and inpatient testing as appropriate based on competency and skill level, such as EKG's, FIT testing, COVID collections, etc. The CPA assists the RRT in cardiac and pulmonary rehab, performs administrative duties and other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications/Position Requirements:
High School Graduate or equivalency. Completion of a formal MA education program, or equivalent, required. Previous experience working with the general public, required. BLS Certification required within 3 months of hire. Knowledge of basic Anatomy & Physiology and related sciences. Ability to establish effective working relationships and effective communication with peers, patients, families, providers and all other support hospital personnel Ability to promote and adapt to change in order to keep current with respiratory care duties. Evidence of a sense of responsibility, initiative, honesty and a positive attitude. Knowledge and ability to learn the safe use of various office equipment. Demonstrates ability to handle multiple tasks in a stressful situation while maintaining composure and excellence in the delivery of services.
