Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients across various settings, including inpatient wards, intensive care units, emergency departments, and outpatient clinics. Your expertise will support patient recovery and improve respiratory health outcomes through assessment, treatment, and education. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong foundation in critical care, airway management, and respiratory therapy protocols, contributing to our mission of delivering exceptional patient-centered care in a dynamic hospital environment. Requirements

required Patient population: Adults 1-2 yrs ICU experience preferred Prior travel experience EPIC experience Responsibilities Perform thorough patient assessments to evaluate respiratory status, including vital signs, oxygen saturation levels, and lung function. Administer respiratory therapies such as oxygen delivery systems, nebulizers, and aerosol treatments tailored to individual patient needs. Manage ventilator support for patients requiring mechanical ventilation in ICU and emergency settings. Monitor and adjust ventilator settings based on patient response and physiological parameters. Assist with airway management procedures, including intubation and suctioning, ensuring safety and compliance with protocols. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans. Educate patients and their families on respiratory conditions, medication administration, and self-care techniques. Maintain accurate documentation of treatments provided, patient responses, and vital signs in accordance with hospital policies. Ensure adherence to infection control standards and safety procedures during all respiratory interventions. Participate in emergency response activities such as code blue situations or trauma cases within Level I or Level II trauma centers. Skills Extensive knowledge of hospital medicine, critical care practices, and emergency medicine protocols. Proficiency in pediatric (pediatrics) and geriatric (geriatrics) patient care environments. Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, pulmonology, and medical terminology relevant to respiratory therapy. Experience with ventilator management and airway management techniques. Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and respond effectively in acute care settings. Familiarity with outpatient clinic procedures as well as inpatient hospital workflows. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) are preferred. Prior experience working within Level I or Level II trauma centers is advantageous. Competence in medication administration related to respiratory treatments. Excellent communication skills for collaboration with healthcare professionals across disciplines.
