Job Description

Category Respiratory Therapist Job Type Contract An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Respiratory Therapist to join a dynamic pediatric hospital environment on a contract basis. This pivotal role focuses on providing specialized respiratory care to neonate, pediatric, and occasionally adult patients within a comprehensive Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center.
Schedule/Hours:
12-hour night shifts: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (36 hours/week) Every other weekend rotation No call required Required to work 75% of holidays Schedule cycles every 6 weeks
Key Qualifications:
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) Active NC licensure Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications Minimum of 2 years' recent experience in respiratory therapy, specifically resource team settings Strong proficiency with
IPPV/NIPPV
ventilators; experience across ED, PICU, Pediatric CVICU, and Pediatric PCU units Comfort working with a variety of patient ages and diagnoses
EPIC EMR
proficiency preferred First-time travelers are welcome
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive respiratory care throughout the hospital, with a focus on neonate and pediatric patients Administer and monitor ventilator therapy (IPPV/NIPPV) and respiratory interventions as indicated Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide patient-centered care Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation in the EMR system Participate in scheduled orientation and ongoing departmental education
