Job Description

Category Respiratory Therapist Job Type Contract Advance your career as a highly skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist in a dynamic environment focused on adult care and NICU services. This contract opportunity offers the chance to provide expert respiratory therapy across multiple acute care settings.
Schedule/Hours:
12-hour night shifts (19:00-07:00) 36 hours per week Every other weekend rotation Required to work 75% of holidays
Key Qualifications:
Active RRT credential (CRT considered if accompanied by required experience) Current NC respiratory therapy licensure Minimum 2 years of recent respiratory therapy experience Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP (Resource Team) Proficient in critical care, CVICU, NICU, ED, progressive care, and all floor therapies EPIC charting experience preferred Must reside at least 50 miles outside the primary unit Willingness and ability to float within Region 2 facilities—including multiple hospitals and freestanding EDs—as department needs dictate
Core Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive respiratory therapy interventions for a daily census exceeding 300 patients Assess, plan, and implement care in alignment with physician directives and current evidence-based practices Operate advanced respiratory equipment (e.g., Servo ventilators, Trilogy, HiFlow, Airvo, NOXbox, bubble CPAP) Collaborate with a cohesive team to ensure continuity and quality of patient care Participate in facility and department orientations and adhere to established protocols
