Respiratory Therapist The Meadows on University - 3.4 Fargo, ND Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Qualifications RRT NRP Certification Critical & intensive care Ventilator management Basic life support State-specific respiratory therapist license Critical care experience Associate's degree RCP License Full Job Description The Meadows on University is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join our Skilled Nursing Facility team! Respiratory Therapist(s) with at least 1 year of experience with Tracheostomy AND ventilator management/experience. Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities Respiratory Therapists are generally responsible for the following duties: Perform chest examinations on a range of patients from babies through to the elderly Consult with doctors and other healthcare staff to develop and modify patient treatment plans Provide detailed therapy, requiring significant independent judgment, like when caring for patients in intensive care Perform physical examination and diagnostic tests measuring lung capacity and blood acidity and alkalinity Treat patients using oxygen or oxygen mixtures, aerosol medications and chest physiotherapy Connect patients who can't breathe to a ventilator Educate patients on how to use equipment and medication Regularly check on patients and equipment
Respiratory Therapist Qualifications and Skills:
Bedside manner Physiological knowledge Infection control Health promotion and maintenance Creating a safe, effective environment Informing others Verbal communication Medical teamwork Judgment Procedural skills People skills
Respiratory Therapist/Nurse Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
Associate's degree with major in Respiratory Therapy Six months of experience within in the last two years or completion of a clinical rotation within the last year in critical care/intensive care environment, to include care of respiratory needs of acutely ill patients Valid state Respiratory Therapist license (must meet education requirement(s) for state licensure) Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) (must obtain within 3 months of hire) Certified Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Current BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification Other Duties Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
