Job Description
Under general supervision, administers respiratory care and life support to patients with cardiopulmonary system deficiencies and abnormalities. Trains and acts as a resource for Respiratory Therapy Department. This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by this employee. He or she will be required to follow any other instructions and to perform any other duties requested by his or her supervisor. Trains and acts as a resource for Respiratory therapy Department.
This includes management of:
- Ventilator and BiPap/CPAP equipment
- Arterial Blood Gas sampling and analysis
- Medication administration via nebulizer and metered dose inhaler
- Cross train in PFT studies Works as a collaborative member of the interdisciplinary team in providing acute and critical care as prescribed.
