Gallup, New Mexico Coverage Area:
50-85 mile radius (preferably within 50 miles)
Schedule:
PRN / Per Diem•Flexible hours (15-25 hours/week)
Business Hours:
Typically 9:00 AM•5:00 PM (may include on-call responsibilities as needed) Join Our Team as a PRN Respiratory Therapist or Registered Nurse! We are looking for dedicated Respiratory Therapists (RRT/CRT/RT) or Registered Nurses (RN) to provide in-home respiratory and medical equipment support across the Gallup, NM area. This position offers independence, excellent earning potential, and opportunities to enhance your clinical skills. Position Summary As a PRN Respiratory Therapist or RN, you will conduct in-home assessments, set up and educate patients on respiratory equipment, and support therapy adherence. This role emphasizes patient education, safety, and personalized care, with flexible scheduling that allows you to choose how many hours you work each week. The position may include on-call duties for NIV (Non-Invasive Ventilation) patient support. Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive in-home assessments to evaluate respiratory therapy needs. Set up and demonstrate the use of respiratory equipment such as oxygen therapy devices, CPAP/BiPAP machines, and NIV systems. Educate patients and caregivers on proper equipment use, cleaning, safety precautions, troubleshooting, and therapy adherence. Verify equipment function and ensure patient comfort and compliance. Maintain thorough, accurate documentation of visits and clinical observations in accordance with healthcare standards. Communicate effectively with the clinical team regarding patient status, concerns, and progress. Provide on-call support for NIV patients as needed to ensure continuous care quality.
Qualifications Required:
Valid licensure as an RRT, CRT, RT, or RN in New Mexico Valid driver's license with a clean driving record High school diploma or GED (additional healthcare certifications/licensure as listed above) Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to educate patients effectively Excellent communication, organization, and documentation abilities Comfortable working independently in diverse patient environments
Preferred:
Prior experience in home respiratory care or HME/DME services Completion of an accredited respiratory therapy program or degree in respiratory science Minimum of 1 year of relevant clinical experience Familiarity with oxygen therapy, CPAP, BiPAP, and NIV workflows Physical & Safety Requirements Ability to lift and transport patient equipment occasionally Frequent standing, walking, and driving between patient locations Good visual acuity for reading screens and documentation Ability to work safely around contagious pathogens, adhering to infection control protocols Compliance with respiratory protection standards, including fit testing and medical evaluation (e.g., N95 mask fit test) Compensation & Benefits Per-service pay: Ranges from $5 to $100 per service setup, depending on service type Mileage reimbursement for travel between patient sites
Sign-On Bonus:
$500 after completing training and servicing first 10 patients or 10 hours Additional $1,000 after serving 50 patients or 100 hours
